Web Dev Resources

Never thought I would be dedicated enough to my site to make one of these, but here we are.

32-bit Cafe has a massive resource list that has more than enough for someone starting out. But for personal use, might as well list the ones that I have or will use.

Widgets

  • Likhoblog - Formerly Likho's microblog.py, cool microblog generator tool for personal use. Requires python and other stuff, but simple enough to use as a noob with some guidance. This page provides additional details on how to use it aside from the readme.
  • Tamanotchi - Virtual pet.
  • GIFYPET - Virtual pet, customizable.
  • imood - Display your current mood.

Tools

  • EZgif.com - Browser-based tool for editing gifs, images, even videos to an extent. Useful for image compression, optimization, conversion, and more.
  • The Spriters Toolkit - Browser-based tool for basic sprite editing.

Static Page Generators (SSGs)

Not really sure if SSG is the right term to describe all of these lol

  • atabook - Guestbook, customizable.
  • Status Cafe - Microblog, very reminiscent of Twitter, customizable!
  • Piclog - Microblog for very heavily compressed images (mmmm, deep fried). Source code available so you can host it yourself.

Studying

  • W3 Schools - One of the OGs. Easy to understand and with examples. But some tutorials are a outdated.
  • MDN Web Docs - Apparently, learning to read use MDN is essential for learning how to code, but holy shit I can barely understand it at my current level.
  • The Odin Project

This site is under construction.

I don't know how to code so I will be tinkering with a lot of small updates as I go along. Please let me know if something's broken.
